Luk Perceval chose to direct Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman' for his last production as the artistic director of Het Toneelhuis. He brings a modernised version of this psychological and realistic theatre classic of the late forties. Miller's characters defend values they sense instinctively. As with his contemporary, Tennessee Williams, the personal failure of the individual is a metaphor for the failure of society. 'Death of a Salesman' is about success, ruthless ambition, and the demands of a society based purely on the laws of money and profit. Guest actor Josse De Pauw plays the salesman.
