Wouter Van Looy & Judith Weir & Muziektheater Transparant
Concert Hall Flanders Opera
Several years ago the Scottish composer Judith Weir reworked her 1994 opera 'Blond Eckbert'. She made it into a one-acter for four singers and chamber ensemble. This 'less is more' version is extremely compelling and - even more than the original - allows you to hear Weir's characteristic and fascinating voice. You hear and see an enigmatic nightmare based on a short story by Ludwig Tieck from 1912.
