After the founding of her Rosas company in 1983, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker created 'Rosas danst Rosas', which led to her international breakthrough. In this work, the choreographer continues to explore the principle of repetition, this time with music by Thierry De Mey and Peter Vermeersch. Four dancers dance five chapters. The abstract movements revert to the formal language of 'Phase', but now the choreographer also interweaves them with familiar, everyday motifs. The atmosphere of the work oscillates uniquely between the unrelenting drive of a machine made up of bodies and moments of calm and recognition, which in passing begin to outline the beginning of a story.
