The conclusion of this series of diversity concerts falls to the ensemble for contemporary music Champ d'Action and the concert band De Scheldezonen. Champ d'Action lives and works in deSingel and has been part of our contemporary music programme for the past twenty years. De Scheldezonen are the longest-standing and most loyal tenants of our Blue Hall: since November 11th 1980, they have come back on the same day every year.
Composer and artistic leader of Champ d'Action, Serge Verstockt, is looking forward to this confrontation with great enthusiasm. Especially for this concert, he has adapted marches from Binche for concert band and electronic ensemble. Rest assured: there will be fizz and flying sparks! Stefaan Prins is one of the new generation of Champ d'Action composers. He's setting to work with Sjow, the young set from De Scheldezonen, and is working out a veritable concerto for laptop and ensemble.
The three participating ensembles will supplement the concert programme with work of their own choice.
