You probably know Louise Lecavalier as a star dancer in La La La Human Steps. Her quick pirouettes and acrobatic dives are legendary, and her slim, androgynous appearance is always fascinating. She is an icon, a fifty-year-old blonde angel with an aura. The choreographer and performer Benoît Lachambre, who appeared with Meg Stuart in the successful 'Forgeries. Love and other matters', is her sparring partner on stage.
In 'Is you me', the two partners examine the relationship between image and dance to the live accompaniment of music by the composer Hahn Rowe and computer drawings by Laurent Goldring. In a pristine white landscape, the two dancers journey between 2D and 3D. They are anonymous, as their appearance is barely visible. Soon they are covered in scratches, drawings and colours projected from Goldring's computer and are gradually transformed into cartoon figures. Will these strange human bodies survive the technological tsunami rushing towards them?
